Headed to a White Sox game this season? Whether you're coming in from out of town or just making a day of it, Guaranteed Rate Field has more to offer than just baseball. From where to stay nearby to the good eats inside the stadium, here’s how to make the most of your Sox game day experience with good vibes and good food from start to finish.

Where to Stay Nearby

If you're not from Chicago or just want to turn game day into a mini getaway, here are two great hotel options with easy access to the park — and some solid places to explore when you're not in your seat.

South Loop Stay: Home2 Suites by Hilton Chicago McCormick Place

Just a short ride from the stadium, this all-suite hotel is part of the McCormick Place hotel campus and has everything you need — spacious rooms, kitchenettes, and a rooftop with views. It’s clean, comfortable, and perfect if you’re rolling with a group or just want some extra space.

West Loop Vibes: The Hoxton Chicago

If you’re planning to turn the game into a whole weekend experience, stay in the West Loop. The Hoxton is stylish, walkable to some of Chicago’s best restaurants and bars, and still a quick 15-minute ride to the game. Plus, you'll be surrounded by some of the city's best eats before and after.

What to Eat Inside the Stadium

Let’s talk food — because Guaranteed Rate Field actually delivers. You can skip the pre-game meal and eat well inside the stadium. Here are my personal top picks:

Spicy Polish or Hot Dogs – Classic Stand Vibes

You can't go wrong with a spicy Polish sausage or Chicago-style dog from one of the many grill stands (sections 110, 126, and 529 are solid options). Load it up with mustard, onions, and sport peppers for that true ballpark bite.

Fuku (Section 110)

Spicy fried chicken sandwiches that don’t miss. Juicy, crispy, and flavorful — this is comfort food with a little heat. Definitely one of the best upgrades to stadium food in recent years.

Elotes (Section 122)

Mexican street corn done right — sweet, salty, tangy, and totally worth the messy fingers. Grab a fork and go in.

Sweet & Savory Stand – Try the Loaded Fries (Section 124)

If you’re craving something indulgent, these loaded fries are the move. Topped with cheese, bacon, or chili, they’re shareable (but you might not want to).

Funnel Cake (Various Sections)

A must-have if you’ve got a sweet tooth. Powdered sugar, crispy edges, soft center — this is the nostalgic treat that hits different during a night game.

Chi-Talian Stand (Section 140)

This one combines two Chicago staples — Italian beef and deep-dish-style flavor — into one clever, craveable menu. The beef sandwiches are loaded and flavorful. If you're hungry-hungry, this should be your first stop.

Game Day Done Right

A Sox game is more than baseball :it’s community, comfort food, and classic South Side energy. Whether you're posted up in the 100-level seats or walking the concourse grabbing bites between innings, Guaranteed Rate Field brings more flavor than people expect.

Make it a full experience by pairing it with a stay in the South Loop or West Loop and hopefully I'll see you at a game!
