I just returned from an incredible Antigua Carnival 2025 trip with my sister and 2 friends, and it was nothing short of amazing. Antigua Carnival isn’t just an event.... it’s a living, breathing expression of freedom, pure joy, and an unstoppable rhythm and vibe that takes over the entire island. From the electric beats of Jouvert to the dazzling costumes of Tuesday Mas, every moment was packed with celebration, culture, and connection.
Jouvert – The Ultimate 4:00 AM Party
Our Carnival adventure kicked off with Jouvert, the legendary early-morning street party that starts before sunrise. Imagine the streets alive with pulsating soca beats, the air thick with excitement, and revelers covered head-to-toe in paint and powder.
Dancing alongside my friends and strangers who instantly felt like family, I felt an exhilarating sense of freedom. Jouvert is raw, wild, and electric and the kind of experience that shakes you awake in the best possible way.
Tuesday Mas – The Grand Parade
Tuesday Mas was an explosion of color, creativity, and joy. We suited up in stunning costumes, from fairy wings to honeycomb designs and joined thousands of other revelers for the grand parade.Marching through Antigua’s streets, surrounded by music, laughter, and cheers, I was struck by the artistry of each costume and the undeniable sense of pride in every step. The vibe was unmatched, and the celebration felt like one continuous heartbeat of Black excellence and unity.

What made this trip truly special was the warmth and pride of the Antiguan people. Everywhere we went, we were welcomed with open arms and genuine smiles.
