5 Reasons Antigua Should Be on Your List

Updated: Oct 17, 2025

Some destinations steal your heart, and Antigua is one of them. I recently took a work trip to Antigua to check it out for my clients, and let’s just say—I fell in love. From the moment I arrived, I knew this island was something special. Crystal-clear waters, vibrant culture, and a laid-back luxury vibe that makes you want to stay forever.

If you haven’t been yet, let me give you five reasons why Antigua needs to be on your list—whether you’re looking for the perfect beach escape or an unforgettable Carnival experience (which, by the way, you can join me for this summer!).

1.365 Beaches—Yes, One for Every Day of the Year

Antigua’s beaches are unreal. Powder-soft sand, the clearest shades of blue you’ve ever seen, and calm waters perfect for swimming or just floating with a rum punch in hand. Some of my favorites? Dickenson Bay for the lively vibes, Half Moon Bay for the untouched beauty, and Darkwood Beach for that postcard-perfect sunset. Whether you want to be in the mix or find your own little slice of paradise, there’s literally a beach for every mood.

2. Carnival & Culture—The Ultimate Celebration

Antigua Carnival is pure energy, and I can't wait to experience it for myself. Picture this: vibrant costumes, rhythmic soca beats, and non-stop dancing in the streets. If you’ve ever wanted to be part of a true Caribbean celebration, Antigua’s Carnival is the place to do it. This summer, I’m hosting a group trip to Antigua Carnival, and trust me—you don’t want to miss it. Think VIP parties, local experiences, and the chance to live out your Carnival dreams with an amazing group of travelers.

3. Luxury Meets Laid-Back Island Vibes

Antigua knows how to do luxury right. Whether you’re looking for a boutique resort with stunning ocean views or a private villa tucked away on the hills, there’s no shortage of high-end stays. I had the chance to tour some of the best resorts, and let’s just say—Antigua is perfect for those who love comfort, style, and an exclusive island experience.

4. The Food Scene—A Not-So Hidden Gem for Foodies

One of my favorite parts of visiting Antigua? The food! Fresh seafood, bold Caribbean flavors, and some of the best rum punch I’ve ever had. If you go, you HAVE to try ducana and saltfish, a sweet potato dumpling dish that’s a local favorite. Also, don’t leave without having a meal at Sheer Rocks—it’s hands down one of the most scenic dining spots in the Caribbean.

5. The Perfect Balance of Adventure & Relaxation

Antigua isn’t just about beaches and vibes—it’s got adventure too. If you love sailing, this is one of the best places to do it. I took a catamaran tour around the island, and it was easily one of the highlights of my trip. For history lovers, a visit to Nelson’s Dockyard gives you a glimpse into Antigua’s past, while a hike up to Shirley Heights rewards you with the best sunset views on the island. Whether you want to be active or just soak in the scenery, Antigua delivers.
